2018 Maryland Black Caucus Scholarships

The Maryland Black Caucus is honored to have the opportunity to award scholarships to students looking to pursue higher education.  Encouraging students to go to college is not only a passion for us, but remains one of our top priorities. If you are a current student or plan to enroll in classes in the  Spring, please take a moment and apply for a scholarship

 

Who May Apply

All Maryland residents attending a college, university, trade school or equivalent in the State of Maryland are eligible for a Black Caucus Scholarship. Current high school seniors and full-time or part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate, graduate students,  and students attending a private career school may apply.

How To Apply

In order to receive the scholarship award, You must also complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

You must enroll at a two-year or four-year Maryland college or university as a full-time (12+ credits per semester) or part-time (6-11 credits per semester), degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student, or attend certain private career schools. Students attending out-of-state schools are welcome to apply, but in order to receive a scholarship award, the intended major or program of study must be unique to the out-of-state school and not available at any Maryland institution.

Deadline

Complete the Online Scholarship Application by April 23, 2019

Complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1, 2019

The minimum annual award is $200 and may be held with all State awards. The total dollar amount of all State awards may not exceed your cost of attendance as determined by your school’s financial aid office. Funds may not be available to award all eligible students.

Awards are not automatically renewed. You must re-apply each year to your delegate(s).
